Cute puppies!

Hung out and had Frontera with Cyril yesterday. Work today, then getting Patrick his first bank account set up. Just hanging out here with Andy, Leslie, and Patrick now... Andy is dogsitting for Jade, so we have a little Jack Russel terrier bouncing around the house.

Pay no mind to these, they're growing on the fact that you loaded your F-list.

Sky spiders~!

Two more, not as good... )
Most of the pictures didn't come out because of my lack of tripod and lack of sense to work with aperture settings at the time. To further explain, it was mainly because my left arm was really hurting and bleeding because I tripped over some uneven pavement and took a dive (in front of like fifty people) on the Artisan rooftop parking deck. Pictures of the scrapes are posted to [info]too_much_info for those not easily grossed out.

Anyway, we had a small party at The Artisan to celebrate. Nicole, Ryan, Rebecca, Ian, Patrick, Jeff and I were there, and it was fun. We played Broken Picture Telephone and Rebecca got wasted by 10:30, passing out shortly after. Lulz. We hung out on the pool deck for a while, too, putting our feet in while Ryan attempted to swim around in four feet of water. Which is good. Because he can't swim anyway.

I hung out with Ian and Patrick on Sunday, and now we're back home... Oh! And here's a giant cow. We saw it in Carrollton after their 4th of July parade. I thought it was funny.

Still at The Artisan... I'll have 4th of July pictures up sometime soon. :3 It was a very fun 4th, despite a mishap or two. And being awake for something like 36 41 hours straight.

So, Jeff and I are spending a few days at The Artisan. It's so refreshing being back here. I had certainly missed the view and the comfortable safety of the place. There's a hint that we might be able to move back in here (Jeff, Andy, and I) since Pam plans to move out to Arizona semi-permanently. I doubt I could afford it, but it's a lovely thought.

I neglected to mention that I've been sick since Tuesday after getting some bad KFC. Jeff was sick for about two days as well. :/ To my local friends, it was the KFC on 78, next to where Best Buy used to be. Ugh. Stay away from it for a while... Not that we really ever go to KFC anyway... Also! I went blackberry-picking with Nicole and Ryan that day... and Jeff and I got chigger bites. D: He got five or so, but I have at least a dozen. I am the girl with the itchiest ankles on the planet.

The water is back on at our place, but we wanted to stay here anyway. It's closer to both our jobs, and we want to be here anyway for the rooftop fireworks tomorrow night. Plus, we had both really missed Mia. She's been following me around mewing, constantly seeking attention. I guess she hadn't forgotten about me. ♥ She still hid from Andy last night, though. Seems like the only guest she ever likes is Ian. But he's a lot more patient and a bit better with kitties.

I don't know why I was craving a cup of coffee at 8 PM, but I was. So I had one. Now I'm wired and alone. Nrrr! This song really isn't helping, either!

I saw a shooting star tonight! :) It was kinda funny... I was outside playing with the neighbor's cat when I saw a moth fly over us fast. It was a pale moth and I thought "Heh, that kinda looked like a shooting star..." Then I saw one!

Work was rather interesting. I was training Katie (the new cashier girl) today. She caught on fast and was practically ready to work alone by the end of the day. There are a lot of little things I still need to make sure she knows, but she's going to be great at it. Around the end, she was taking paperwork from the customers and checking them out while I was busy with another. Love it.

And Andrea showed up to our last clinic! It was cool seeing her again... she had her mom and daughter with her. The family resemblance is striking. They all have the same eyes.

Also, apparently a huge sinkhole opened up on Druid Hills today literally minutes after I had been driving on it. Scary stuff! I could have gotten stuck in a hole and ruined Ronan!

Today began with yet another problem... When I arrived, the fugly church vans were waiting. (The ones that Enterprise had forgotten to give use keys for yesterday (asses). Which resulted in me driving up to their office long after they closed for some dude to give me the keys. He was with his girlfriend, and apologized to me, saying his Aderol had worn off.) And the one we needed to take out all the way to Toccoa had a flat tire. Yep. We're moving our account to another branch from here on out. They have screwed something up every single week for a long time...

Then, when we got to the first clinic, we found out that the wrong flyers had been given out last month. So all the people who would show up for us showed up at the wrong time. When we weren't there. :| My rig ended up seeing 13 animals all day. And their owners had found us on the internet... not via flyers.

Got my paid account back! Yay! I missed having 70+ icons.

And I know it's already getting annoying with all the Michael Jackson buzz, but I have to say, I'm pretty sad about it. And curious. But mostly sad because I was hoping one day he'd come out and tell us what really happened and what really got him in so much trouble. But now we'll probably never know. To be perfectly real and honest, I adored him as a small child. Maybe from the ages of four to eight. I loved his music and thought he was amazing. I had a cassette of his Thriller album and a horrible tapedeck from the 80's that I listened to when I was six or so. But then suddenly my mom started insisting that he had done something very bad to a little boy and that I shouldn't like him so much anymore. And I went with it, because that seemed like something very scary that I would understand when I was older. Hmm...

There is a dead beaver right next to the turn lane where I go to pick up the vaccine shipment. It has been there for probably six months. I see it every time, but by now it has become a brown, slightly furry piece of leather with a flat, unmistakable tail. Just felt like sharing that.

Nothing of importance has gone on... aside from the fact that one of my hubcaps got stolen sometime last week. So I'm missing one on the front passenger's side. :| Hooray for Atlanta.

Patrick seems to like working for AHS so far. What's awful is that he got dropped onto one of our busiest, hardest runs on his first day. But I think that will at least give him an honest example about how stressful this job gets... Speaking of which, I'll be training a new cashier this weekend. I don't really like training people, but oh well. We're also getting a new CA. It's always kinda weird when we get a new person because we're such a small group...

Still really addicted to this Pokemon site... click if you feel like it. I get points just because you saw this on your F-list.

I don't usually do these things, but it was Pokemon themed, so I had to...

Make with the clicky and hatch them? :3 I don't know what the first one is! But I'm almost completely sure about the others. AND THIS SITE IS SO ADDICTIVE. It's going to eat all of my free time. Forever. How dare they make it so interactive and stat-driven? *huge nerd*

Today could have been a nightmare, but turned out pretty well. I was on the Toco Hills run, but we had two techs and two CA's. So everything went by at record speed. We got through 44 animals in about two hours. We left before five, which has to count for something. Patrick started today, as well. But he was on the other rig, so I'm not really sure how it went. Apparently busy, but well.

As we were packing up to leave Toco, a tiny bumblebee landed on my sleeve and proceeded to slowly crawl around. It wasn't trying to sting me... just looking around, and threatening to crawl up into my scrubs. Before it could do that, though, Rebecca brushed it off me.

Not much else to talk about. Had my birthday dinner at my mom's on Friday... epic food was had all around. Filet minion, mashed potatoes, ceasar salad, cake...

I dreamed that I was at some sort of con/gathering/thing at night. I was driving from one hotel place to another, and happened to notice Maynard James Keenan standing by the side of the road. I stopped and offered him a ride. He got into my backseat and I started talking to him cheerfully, asking questions and generally just being friendly. He didn't take that well. :( When I stopped to let him out, he told me that next time, I shouldn't talk. *crushed* Kinda makes me not want to hear any of his music today.

Anyway, today I took Patrick to get his birth certificate reprinted. He needs it to get a driver's license, and to start working with AHS. I'm pretty excited about him joining our little crew.

Taken near Ormewood Church. Now I'm off to dye my hair...

Taken Sunday morning next to the office.

We found out the night before last that Andy's grandparents were in an accident. They passed away yesterday... how sad. Andy left for Florida Saturday night and we're not sure when he'll be back. It's odd not having him around... And so tragic. I know he was close to them.

In the meantime, Roxanne is back. Andrew is watching her for Erica. She came bounding into bed with me this morning and proceeded lick and roll all over the place. I had missed her. Hell, I miss having any sort of pet. The neighbor's cat, Charlie, has been coming over a lot, though. She's obsessed with getting into our house and has been haunting our front porch, waiting for someone to open the door. Cute, but a little strange.

There's a solid black feral tom walking around, too. I see him pass through our yard every now and then. He came up onto our porch last night when Jeff and I were on our way out to IHOP. We were already in the car and watched him walk up to Charlie, expecting a fight. But instead, he politely greeted her, then left.

All you can eat what...? I feel uncool for not getting it. Taken right outside Little Five Points, of course.

Kirkwood-Ormewood run today... so tired... guh. But the day went by smoothly... worked with Skip, Rebecca, and Ian. Having two techs was amazing. It really sped things up. When we stopped for Kirkwood, the manager pulled me aside and talked to me about why I hadn't gotten a call-back about the job. She's apparently still interested in me joining them, but since everyone is forced to work weekends and I already have a weekend job, there's kind of a conflict. She says she doesn't want to piss everyone who already works there off by letting me work somewhere else on those days. And yeah, I understand. But for now, it's sort of still up in the air. I also spoke with a guy who works for Kirkwood already, and he could not stop mentioning how much he loves working there. How fun it is, and how good of an environment it is. Something about him struck me as really cool, maybe it was the way he acted with his dog, or the fact that he dresses a lot like Cyril, haha.

We heard an explosion or crash during that clinic, and the power went out for a few seconds. Never did find out what caused it.

I just broke my best headphones. My plants are wilting. Toby is sick. I'm in negative numbers in my bank account. My car is making a weird noise. I think the people who wanted me for my second job don't need me anymore. And the SD card I got in the mail doesn't work.

I tried to get Andy's truck to start today by jumping it off... for like 45 minutes. In the end, he had to replace the battery anyway. But not before my car started making a weird noise and losing power around 3000 RPM. :|

Fingers crossed for something to go right tomorrow. Dammit all.
Also, Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Prachett has been great so far.

I dreamed I was in a van with [info]arphalia and a few other girls... the van rolled when we were coming down a HUGE hill, and the wine we had been drinking went EVERYWHERE. WTF. We got soaked. It was essentially a furry joyride in a field with ridiculous grassy hills. And at the time it was very funny. Of course, being a dream, no one got hurt. It was just hilarious to us for some reason. I remember squealing "Ohmygod, I'm sorry Arphieee~!"

I woke up with "Magic Carpet Ride" by Steppenwolf stuck in my head as a result.
Off to work!

We saw 53 animals at our last stop today. It was a rude awakening to an otherwise lazy work day. I can't even begin to describe how much I stressed in that rough four hours. Plus, it was Violent Cat Day. I feel like I haven't slept in days for some reason. Maybe because I worked a 14-hour shift on 3.5 hours of sleep. I was so tired that after my alarm went off, I put on my scrubs and got back in bed until I had to leave. No makeup, no bothering with my hair, no nothing.

Also! Jeff, Nicole, Laurel, Ryan and I were supposed to go strawberry picking tomorrow, but the place is closed on Sundays. Of course. I am quite disappointed. Not only because I won't get to have fun picking berries with my friends, but because I won't get to have a Strawberry Fields themed photo post.

And one of our coworkers, who will go unnamed just in case, got in trouble finally. He's completely incompetent at all three rig positions, and it's finally getting re-acknowledged. The best part, however, was [info]koji_ametsurugi reading his "conference" write-up out loud. We're such horrible people.

And happy birthday to [info]dasseulanglii!!!

Today could have been awesome, but I ended up spending most of it in bed...

Jeff and I were supposed to go to Six Flags today with Laurel, Nicole, Ryan, and a couple other people, but Jeff and I never got up for it. He had stayed up til 8 am, and I... well, I didn't have the money to go in the first place. :/ There's no way to explain it in a way that wouldn't make us look bad. We simply didn't go. And I feel really bad... because it was going to be one of the last things we all did together before Laurel moves to Arizona, and before Nicole and Ryan move to Japan.

I still have to go in to work to get everything ready for the rigs tomorrow. I'm finding it hard to leave the upstairs, though. I suppose I'll wait until traffic dies down before I go.
